Position Title: Metal Finisher

Reports To: President

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Metal Finisher to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying various finishing processes to metal components and products to enhance their appearance, durability, and corrosion resistance while meeting quality specifications and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation & Finishing

- Clean, deburr, sand, grind, and polish metal surfaces to prepare them for finishing processes

- Apply various finishing techniques including painting, powder coating, anodizing, and buffing

- Operate finishing equipment such as spray guns, dip tanks, ovens, and polishing machines

- Mix paints, chemicals, and coating solutions according to specifications

Quality Control

- Inspect finished products for defects, proper coverage, and adherence to specifications

- Conduct quality tests including thickness measurements and adhesion tests

- Document inspection results and maintain quality records

- Reject and rework products that don't meet standards

Equipment & Safety

- Maintain and perform routine maintenance on finishing equipment

- Follow all safety protocols including proper use of PPE and ventilation systems

- Handle hazardous materials safely and dispose of waste according to regulations

- Keep work area clean and organized

Required QualificationsEducation & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent

- 2+ years of experience in metal finishing or related manufacturing field is a plus!

Skills & Abilities

- Knowledge of various metal finishing techniques and materials

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

- Strong attention to detail and quality standards

- Basic math skills for mixing ratios and measurements

- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

Working Conditions

- Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and noise

- May require working in confined spaces or at heights

- Standard 40-hour work week with potential overtime
