Mechanical Static Engineer

What’s the role

The Scotford Refinery, Chemicals and Distribution Mechanical team is a group of Engineers, Inspectors, Specialists, and Technologists who work together to ensure the safe and reliable condition of site equipment. Key stakeholders for the Mechanical team are asset Operations, Maintenance, and technical disciplines who rely on the Mechanical Static Engineer to monitor equipment, proactively mitigate and develop detailed repair scopes in order to prevent Loss of Primary Containment from site pressure vessels and piping.

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, the Mechanical Static Engineer is responsible for providing mechanical engineering and technical integrity functions related to the design, repair, and alteration of piping, pressure vessels, tanks, and boilers at the Scotford Refinery, Chemicals and Distribution asset. The Mechanical Static Engineer primarily provides technical support on day-to-day issues within a 90-day outlook and during plant operational upsets or outages. They are required to provide support to the asset in aspects of Design Operating Window (DOW) monitoring, Management of Change (MOC) reviews, Fitness for Service analysis, and repair plan endorsement.
