The purpose of the Mechanical Design Engineer position is to prepare and design shop drawings, break down projects into packages for production. Assist sale and production departments to meet deadlines. Must have experience in Custom Metal Fabrication.
· Design and develop mechanical systems and shop drawings and components using CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of mechanical components into larger systems.
· Create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test plans.
· Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs and optimize performance.
· Conduct testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to identify and resolve issues.
· Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure successful fabrication and assembly of mechanical components.
· Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.
· University Degree- Mechanical Engineering Or At least 5 years experience.
· Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· WHMIS Training/ Ontario Health and Safety training
· Tape Measure (metric & Imperial) and other measuring tools.
· This is a fast paced work environment. Work must be accomplished in a timely manner, and/or as per customer requirements.
· Able to work on weekends and overtime whenever necessary
· Ability to work in a team. (As a team member or as a Leader)
