We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of transformer components and assemblies, ensuring product performance, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Previous experience in the power transformer and components industry is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
•Design and develop mechanical components for power transformers (e.g., tanks, cores, radiators, conservators, bushings, tap changers, enclosures, etc.)
•Create and maintain 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)
•Analyze mechanical stress, thermal performance, and vibration characteristics using engineering principles
•Collaborate with others to ensure integrated product design and smooth transition to production
•Support design validation through testing, prototyping, and field feedback analysis
•Contribute to the development and standardization of mechanical design best practices and tools
•Interface with customers and suppliers on technical matters and design requirements
•Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and installation phases
Required Qualifications:
•Associate’s degree in engineering or related field
•3–7 years of mechanical design experience, preferably inpower transformers or high-voltage components
•Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo)
•Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals: materials, mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and structural analysis
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
•Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative team environment
