The Mechanic I is responsible for maintenance of fleet equipment and trucks. This position requires all trucks and equipment to be kept in good working order, organizing necessary repairs to keep equipment and trucks working consistently in the field. The Heavy Duty Mechanic responds in a timely fashion to request for repairs, both scheduled and unscheduled, by assessing needs within time constraints.
Roles and Responsibilities:
•Knowledge of brakes, drivetrain, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
•Accurately complete necessary paperwork and documentation for each repair.
•Perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
•Able to drive commercial vehicles equipped to transport a variety of materials and equipment.
•Ensures vehicles have current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance.
•Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.
•Operate all company vehicles and equipment in a safe manner
•Communicate effectively an professionally with all company and vendor personnel
•Maintain general shop safety and cleanliness standards

•Ability to work with hand tools and power tools in both strength and fine manipulation scenarios
Experience and Education:
•Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in fleet and construction equipment diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of both gasoline and diesel engines
•Welding Experience Preferred
•Experienced with electrical, hydraulic and suspension systems
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
•Possession of a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required.
•Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
