The position is directly responsible for inspection, maintenance, and inventory control of fixture stands and clamps. This position is also responsible for the materials reception, management, preparation, staging, and reporting for all related hardware and materials. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols & quality standards. This role is responsible for adhering to and participating in continuous improvements in the organization.
The Material Technician represents High Country Industrial Corp. professionally, while providing excellent service to customers as well as maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
This position reports directly to the shop manager of HCI.

This job is considered medium to heavy work in nature with occasional heavy tasks.
Maximum lifting of up to 75 pounds with frequent lifting of weights up to 50 pounds.
Typically standing and walking for 6 hours out of an 8-hour day.
Working conditions vary depending on the weather and changes to the indoor environment (which cannot always be predicted or controlled).

Standardize: Establish and maintain standards for the first three steps, ensuring consistency and creating a system for ongoing improvement.
Sustain: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and make the 5S principles a habit, ensuring that the benefits are maintained over time.
1. Review the production schedule every week to anticipate and plan the material stocking process for the following week(s) to ensure goods are pulled from designated locations and staged in advance.
2. Identify and sort various materials and hardware for inventory and shipping.
3. Load and unload trucks with equipment and hardware ensuring correct types and quantities are present and accounted for.
4. Prepare and organize different material sizes and types for varying models.
5. Sort equipment by model, capacity, and status. Identify and label with accurate real time information.
5. Create a real-time safety plan for materials movement before moving to the work cells and

4. Frequently review the material handling workflow to ensure that all obstacles are removed or minimized to optimize efficiency and work quality.
5. Remove unnecessary parts, materials and consumables that do not affect the quality of production practices.
6. Keep the work area organized, labeled, and "set" so all materials, parts, tools, etc. can be accessed easily.
7. Clean the inventory storage areas daily and/or between each work order to ensure equipment does not deteriorate or become damaged.
8. Continuously look to standardize practices and methods to be the most efficient during work order production.

2. Partner with the production employees to improve the production process on a frequent basis.
3. Participate in work cell improvement initiatives and improvements to reduce cycle time and to improve safety and quality
