To support our growth, we are currently seeking a Market Development Manager to drive contractor network expansion and partnership development for Georgia Power's Home Energy Improvement Program (HEIP). This role is critical to scaling program participation through strategic contractor recruitment, workforce development, and stakeholder engagement across the state of Georgia. The Market Development Manager will focus on activities that directly influence participation, network growth, partnerships, and workforce development. This position includes use of a company vehicle and requires regular travel throughout Georgia to build relationships with contractors, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
- Contractor Network Growth: Establish and execute quarterly recruitment targets for Whole Home and HVAC PPC contractors with the goal of doubling the existing contractor network within 24 months. Drive contractor engagement and increase application submittals to expand program participation.
- Multifamily Activation: Build and maintain relationships with key multifamily operators, property managers, and developers across the state of Georgia. Create and manage a pipeline of projects that reflects capital campaigns and asset improvement plans across the multifamily sector.
- Partnership Development: Cultivate strategic partnerships with stakeholder groups such as the Georgia Manufactured Home Association, Community Action Agencies (CAAG), housing authorities, and other relevant organizations to expand program reach.
- Regional Market Development: Execute targeted outreach strategies across four distinct regions of Georgia, with specific focus on underserved rural and suburban markets. Coordinate with retail partners (Lowe's, Home Depot) for in-store events and contractor engagement opportunities.
- Trade Ally Support: Support Account Managers in conducting monthly contractor meetings, roundtables, and training sessions. Assist in developing contractor scorecards and performance tracking systems.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Track and report on recruitment metrics, contractor performance, and pipeline development. Provide regular updates to Program Management on network growth and partnership activities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, construction management, or related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in contractor relations, business development, or program coordination
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record (company vehicle provided)
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Georgia (60-80% travel)
- Sound business ethics, including protection of proprietary and confidential information
- Excellent attention to detail and relationship-building skills
- Exceptional customer service, active listening, and verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with computers, MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), and CRM software (Salesforce experience preferred)
- Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, contractors, and external partners
- Strong time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience in residential energy efficiency programs, home performance, or HVAC industries
- Knowledge of Building Performance Institute (BPI) certifications and requirements
- Familiarity with Georgia Power programs, GEFA programs, or federal IRA initiatives
- Existing relationships with contractors, distributors, or trade organizations in Georgia
- Experience with multifamily property management or development
- Understanding of utility demand-side management (DSM) programs
- Ability to present to groups and conduct contractor training sessions
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) a plus
- Self-directed with ability to take initiative and work independently
- Team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to changing priorities
