COMPENSATION
$27.50 - $33 per hour
Onsite - 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
1 year with high likelihood of extension or conversion to full time employee.
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician II to support daily operations in an advanced metal additive manufacturing environment. This role involves working hands-on with metal 3D printers, supporting powder handling, equipment maintenance, quality checks, and basic machining and post-processing activities. The ideal candidate has experience in CNC machining, welding, mechatronics, or equivalent manufacturing environments and is comfortable working with metal powders and specialized PPE.
- Assist with the cleanout of metal 3D printers, including vacuuming/sieving powder, cleaning filters, optics, and performing general equipment cleaning
- Monitor printers during build cycles, ensuring adequate powder and resolving minor errors
- Perform visual quality checks and accurately record data within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- Conduct OPM tasks and assist with preventive maintenance and calibrations on printers
- Fully clean, reprocess, and store metal powder according to safety and quality standards
- Carry out basic “water spider” duties, including part movement, MES operation closeout, paperwork completion, and assisting with issue resolution
- Communicate effectively with technicians, operators, and engineers to maintain smooth workflow
- Support loading/unloading and basic operation of powder removal systems, wire EDMs, and build plate machining
- Participate in 5S, Kaizen events, safety improvements, and continuous improvement projects
- Safely handle metal powders while wearing required PPE, including PAPR respirators
- Stand or walk approximately 6 hours per day, lift up to 35 lbs occasionally, and work on/around equipment including climbing ladders when needed- Associate degree in CNC Machining, Welding, Mechatronics, or related technical field and 2+ years of manufacturing experience
4+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder (required due to export-controlled technology)
- Must be able to wear PPE, including PAPR respirators
- Ability to meet physical job demands (lifting, standing, climbing)
- Experience with additive manufacturing, machining, or mechanical systems
- Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and prioritize safety
Comfortable using MES systems, basic troubleshooting, and completing documentation
