We have an opening for an Electronics Manufacturing Technician based out of our SE Technical Centre location. The Electronics Manufacturing Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality, operation and suitability of any electronic hardware manufactured by Phoenix. This individual may also be required to qualify electronic components sourced by Phoenix from an outside supplier.
- Work with the Manufacturing Manager, electronics engineers and manufacturing department to develop testing and documentation procedures that accurately qualify the operation of electronic systems built by Phoenix.
- Assemble and test electronic and mechanical assets.
- Maintain documentation of all tests performed via standard conformance tools to ensure adherence to proper quality and assembly procedures.
- Prepare and maintain work instructions and conformances.
- Maintain an inventory of parts that need qualifying and parts that have been tested and are field ready.
- Provide feedback to the Manager and production department regarding problems and possible solutions to common non-conformances.
- Work within the Company’s Health and Safety Program within the manufacturing department for the purpose of minimizing unsafe acts and conditions and preventing workplace accidents and incidents.
- Assist with mechanical assembly as required.
- Assist other departments in diagnosing field failures as required.
- Assist other departments with various projects when time permits.
- Perform all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in the Employee and Corporate HSE Handbooks.
- Perform duties according to the Company’s quality system procedures and work instructions.
The successful candidate will be familiar with electronic test equipment, hand and power tools. They will also have experience in troubleshooting electronic systems and working with computers and computer applications such as MS Excel, along with the ability to build and maintain test environments. The candidate will have a track record of creative problem solving and root cause analysis with solid organizational and record keeping skills, good manual dexterity, and proficient soldering and mechanical assembly skills.
