Characteristics needed to succeed as a Manufacturing Quality Technician:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Technician to join our team in a fast-paced metal fabrication manufacturing environment. This role will support the Quality Engineer by performing inspections, maintaining documentation, and helping drive continuous improvement across our production processes.
- Ensuring all jobs have complete job travelers with all documented information for the production floor.
- Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) to verify part conformance through inspection.
- Audit internal quality documents to ensure all first article inspections and frequency checks are being completed.
- Perform layered process audits to verify quality and manufacturing processes are being followed.
- Perform dock audits on finished manufactured goods.
- Inspect and approve all shipments for quality and packaging prior to products leaving the facility.
- Actively involved in quality improvements and implementation of new quality management system segments.
- Follow through from design to shipment of all prototype parts through NCT’s prototyping process.
- Complete all necessary Production Part Approval Process’s (PPAP’s)
- Documenting and tracking the facilities quality, rework, and customer performance.
- Leading customer response teams when a quality reject occurs.
- Leading and supporting root cause analysis/corrective action process and verifying countermeasures, corrective actions, and preventative actions.
- Creating, reviewing, and managing quality alerts and documents associated.
- Oversite of inspection equipment and their calibration.
- Document inspection results and maintain nonconformance reports.
- Assist in internal audits and process verifications.
- Work closely with production teams to clarify inspection requirements.
- 2–4 years of quality/inspection experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with precision measurement instruments.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management Systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Team-oriented with solid problem-solving ability.
- A flexible team member that is willing to step out of their comfort zone to achieve results within the company.
- Able to accompany peers in travel to other NCT locations, and/or customer sites when needed.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, 3D and 2D modeling software, CMM inspection programs, etc.
