What You’ll Do
We’re looking for a hands-on Assembly & Operations Manager to lead production and internal logistics while also managing relationships with our manufacturing partners. This is a blended role: 50% tactical execution (assembly oversight, inventory, scheduling) and 50% strategic operations (process design, supplier evaluation, insourcing strategy).
You’ll be responsible for making sure our in-house and external production workflows are reliable, cost-effective, and scalable. You’ll lead internal techs, interface with suppliers, and drive continuous improvements in both quality and cost.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Team Management
•Direct day-to-day assembly operations and lead a small team of part-time technicians.
•Build and refine SOPs for high-quality, efficient product builds.
•Oversee component-level and final assembly using tools such as torque drivers, crimpers, arbor presses, soldering irons, and test stations.
•Monitor throughput, rework rates, and schedule adherence.
•Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious production area.
Inventory, Logistics & Scheduling
•Manage inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
•Perform cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and drive process discipline around inventory movement.
•Coordinate inbound shipments and outbound customer deliveries.
•Schedule installation work with field technicians and ensure equipment readiness.
•Work closely with purchasing, finance, and field teams to ensure seamless handoffs.
Vendor Management & Outsourcing Strategy
•Maintain strong relationships with contract manufacturers and vendors.
•Define and enforce quality, delivery, and cost expectations with external partners.
•Evaluate make-vs-buy decisions on assemblies, subassemblies, and finished goods.
•Routinely assess alternative vendors and methods to optimize cost, lead time, and risk exposure.
•Coordinate with engineering and finance teams when onboarding new partners or changing sourcing strategies.
Data, Reporting & Internal Coordination
•Input and process data as part of internal well diagnostics.
•Report on assembly progress, inventory status, and workflow improvements.
•Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.
What You’ll Bring
•3–5 years of experience in operations, production, logistics, or manufacturing.
•At least 1 year of team leadership experience in a technical or assembly environment.
•Strong attention to detail and a process-first mindset.
•Ability to assemble products quickly and accurately using hand tools and light machinery.
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Nice to Have
•Background in electronics assembly or mechanical systems.
•Familiarity with oil & gas industry operations or field installations.
•Experience writing and improving SOPs or quality checklists.
•Experience with inventory systems and coordination tools (NetSuite, ERP, Freshdesk, Jira, etc.).
If you are passionate about optimizing operations in a manufacturing setting and have the necessary skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity as an Operations Manager.
