Overview
The Manufacturing Manger is responsible for developing, managing and leading the manufacturing organization at the Longmont facility. The Manufacturing Manager ensures the production of quality products and delivery in a safe, economical and timely manner.
Key Job Responsibilities
•Oversee the effective operations of shipping, receiving, inventory, manufacturing and product quality.
•Ensure that the quality of products and services meets expectations, including on time delivery.
•Tracks, manages and puts measures in place to reduce costs, failures and errors through Kaizen and Lean events.
Safety:
•Promote a culture of prevention across manufacturing.
•Assess risks at the earliest stage and support the implementation of appropriate means of prevention.
•Updates, informs and applies safety guidelines.
•Collaborate with Corporate Safety department as needed.
•Safety planning and development in order to collaborate with Plant Manager who will direct the overall safety program in Longmont location
Finance:
•Control expenditures, and take appropriate measures to ensure that the overall manufacturing plan is achieved.
•Oversee materials and shop equipment needs, ensuring alignment with budget constraints. While not primarily responsible for overall headcount, the Manufacturing Manager will assess direct manufacturing staffing levels, analyze current resource capacity, and engage in clear, data-driven conversations about overtime, cross-training opportunities, and workforce allocation based on evolving business needs.
Human Resources:
•Lead, develop, mentor, and engage direct reports to consistently meet goals.
•Work to help maintain a culture that embraces the core values of Socomec, fostering a positive and engaging working environment.
•Provide effective performance feedback, encouragement, and recognition to direct reports.
•Manage resources in response to fluctuating business needs, changing priorities, and unforeseen problems.
•Proactively document and escalate employee matters as needed, partnering with the HR Business Partner (HRBP) to ensure alignment with company policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines.
Quality:
•Develop a quality spirit across manufacturing.
•Deploy quality processes encompassing product, process, supplier and systems.
•Partner closely with the Quality Specialist and other key stakeholders to ensure production processes meet quality standards, support continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with internal and external requirements.
Qualifications
•Minimum of 3-5 years of successful leadership experience within the electrical manufacturing industry, with particular emphasis on low voltage devices
•Bachelor’s degree/diploma in engineering or business or equivalent experience
•Lean manufacturing experience or certification preferred;
•Prior ERP/LN experience preferred
Working Conditions
•Must possess and maintain an unrestricted valid driver’s license.
•Ability to travel to international destinations; must possess and maintain a valid passport for international travel.
•Must be available for business travel to international locations.
