Job Overview:

The Electrical Engineer utilizes design, evaluation, and implementation of electrical systems in a fast-paced industrial building materials production environment. The position will have experience in three-phase power distribution system design, strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, and the ability to evaluate and upgrade existing infrastructure.

We expect every engineer to use their talents and expertise to drive our production facilities to world-class operations across all metrics through daily continuous improvement and large scale project design and execution. With the facility's production capacity and product range continuously expanding, there will be a constant stream of new and exciting projects to lead.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•

Design and implement three-phase power distribution systems in compliance with local and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC).

•

Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, one-line drawings, and technical documentation.

•

Evaluate and troubleshoot existing electrical systems, recommending and executing upgrades for improved performance and safety.

•

Support the development and integration of electrical systems for new equipment and facility expansions.

•

Understand and apply knowledge of asynchronous motors (AC induction motors), motor protection, and control strategies.

•

Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure seamless electrical system integration and support.

•

Maintain documentation for electrical projects, including specifications, as-built drawings, and compliance reports.

•

Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and company policies.

•

Provide input on DC systems and controls, particularly for equipment or subsystems utilizing low-voltage or backup power.

•

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

•

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

•

2+ years of experience in electrical design, modification, and implementation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•

Familiarity with three-phase power systems, grounding, overcurrent protection, and load balancing.

•

Ability to read and understand technical electrical documentation and standards.

•

Working knowledge of asynchronous motor design, operation, and control.

•

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across departments.

•

Strong attention to detail and commitment to electrical safety practices.

•

Experience in designing or supporting electrical systems for heavy industrial or building materials equipment.

•

Knowledge of DC systems, controls, and low-voltage applications.

•

Familiarity with industrial automation and PLC-related control systems.

•

Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

•

Periods of working on feet and using tools while evaluating manufacturing equipment.

•

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

•

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

•

Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.

•

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required for safety.
