Shield Engineering and Architecture is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, well-organized, and self-motivated, with a strong desire to develop their skills while contributing to a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Design and develop electrical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, control, and automation systems.

•

Create and review detailed engineering documents, including specifications, single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, wiring schematics, and technical reports.

•

Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards and client-specific requirements in all engineering deliverables.

•

Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, architects, civil, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to deliver coordinated design solutions.

•

Conduct field visits to collect data, verify existing conditions, support installations, perform inspections, and assist with commissioning and troubleshooting.

•

Review submittals such as shop drawings and respond to RFIs to support construction and ensure alignment with design intent.

•

Manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables from conceptual design through construction support and project close-out.

•

Participate in client meetings, clearly communicating electrical design scope, progress, and technical solutions.

•

Mentor junior engineers and EITs, providing technical oversight and professional development support.

Qualifications and skill sets:

•

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

•

Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with 1 - 5 years of experience.

•

In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design methodologies, and industry best practices across residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

•

Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards, including CEC, CSA, OESC, and IEEE.

•

Experience in the design, specification, and integration of medium- and low-voltage electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, variable frequency drives, and uninterruptible power supplies

•

Familiarity with instrumentation, communication, and automation systems is considered an asset

•

Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and contribute positively to team dynamics.

•

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and mentor others.

Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
