In addition to implementing robust internal control processes to comply with existing regulations and proactively develop control mechanisms, we emphasize a focus on risk governance and implementation of processes to maintain an effective risk culture. This position would align with that focus and facilitate insurance programs on various lines of business, support risk analysis, support commercial and strategic efforts, manage business continuity plans, implement governance and training programs, and support the Risk Management department overall.
- Reviews all vessel documentation to ensure indemnity and insurance requirements are met
- Coordinates with all departments to prepare underwriting information needed for market submissions on renewals
- Works in conjunction with Senior Director to meet with and present to insurers and brokers
- Reports new claims to insurers and manages existing claims for timely conclusion
- Coordinates and lead the site visits and inspections with risk management external shareholders
- Reviews incident reports and coordinate any claim reporting with other departments
- Attends and coordinates site tours, visits, and inspections.
- Provides department staff with additional industry knowledge in order to promote additional responsibilities
- Assists in reviewing insurance policy wordings to ensure required coverage is in compliance with contractual requirements and reviews for other coverage needs
- Works with Legal & Procurement to review changes related to insurance for MSA’s and other contracts.
- Responds to and supports in questions and requests from all other departments relating to risk management
- Identifies and implements opportunities to improve contractual and project risk management.
- Coordinates with Health & Safety to develop and implement loss prevention and safety programs, including the planning and presentation of monthly safety meetings and drills at both the Terminal and Headquarters.
- Educates and trains FLNG employees and contractors as to the risk management program, and their responsibilities, as well as incident management, and other programs
- Oversees the Headquarters Business Continuity Plan, Severe Weather Plans, and other emergency response plans
- Develops conclusions that are based on evidence/data and encourages others to make data-based decisions
- Supports Risk Department as needed with other responsibilities and tasks
Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s or graduate degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the areas of risk management, insurance practices, claims, legal or finance practices, or a relevant industry equivalent. Experience in a regulated industry is preferable, but not required. An ability to be proactive, adaptable, and excellent communication skills.

Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Assist with conducting safety and emergency response drills, drafting and revising emergency response plans, and preparing and presenting monthly safety meetings at the Terminal and at Headquarters. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc.
