The Manager of Metering Services is responsible for leading a team that provides utility field services including meter deployment, meter testing, AMI/AMR installations, panel meter upgrades, and load control device inspections. This role oversees daily field operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency, while ensuring positive customer experiences. This position owns the Profit & Loss (P&L) for assigned projects, overseeing budgets, forecasts, job costing, and profitability. Drives strategic growth by expanding service capabilities, developing customer relationships, and implementing operational improvements.
- Supervises and coordinates daily field operations including scheduling, routing, and quality control.
- Champions and enforces safety standards, ensuring compliance with OSHA and utility requirements.
- Manages P&L: oversees budgets, forecasts, job costing, and margin performance.
- Achieves production and quality goals while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Hires, develops, and coaches field supervisors and crews; oversees onboarding and training programs.
- Builds and maintains relationships with utility customers; resolves escalations and oversees project closeouts.
- Establishes and monitors KPIs covering safety, productivity, quality, and financial performance.
- Oversees specialized services including meter testing, AMI/AMR programming, panel upgrades, and load control device inspections.
- Proactively identifies new sales opportunities within existing accounts and develops strategies to expand utility customer relationships.
- Partners with Account Managers and Technical Sales Engineers to drive revenue growth through solution selling and cross-selling of services and products.
- Assists with business development by contributing to proposals, pricing, and resource planning.
- Identifies and implements process improvements, technologies, and tools to improve efficiency.
- Supports logistics planning, forecasting, and inventory reconciliation of meters and materials.
- Participates in industry groups and training to stay current on trends and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of equivalent experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibilities required.- Minimum 3 years management experience in utilities, construction, or technical field services required.
- Proven experience managing budgets and P&L responsibilities preferred.
- Knowledge of AMI/AMR installation, meter testing procedures, and commissioning processes.
- Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and SAP software preferred.
- Valid drivers license with ability to travel regionally.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.

- Ability to manage priorities with minimal supervision.
