As an essential member of the Leadership Team, the
Maintenance Manager
for Calgary Energy Center and Crossfield Energy Centre is responsible for ensuring plans, processes and measures are in place to ensure economic daily and long-term maintenance functions that allow the facility to be operated and maintained in accordance with ENMAX standards, industry best practice and vendor operating and maintenance procedures.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and the plant inventory. The incumbent will lead the maintenance team to provide support services to the operations and engineering teams. This team will also ensure all maintenance is completed in a professional and timely manner to achieve maximum performance and profitability of the facility.
This role provides leadership and mentoring for the maintenance team and supports the development of all plant personnel in reliability and best maintenance practices.
Major Responsibilities•Ensure maintenance personnel have all necessary skills and training needed for completion of their role and ensure records are maintained to verify training and development is adequate.
•Accountable for payroll procedure compliance and that all staff under their control are using proper methods for time entry.
•Purchasing and receiving consumables, materials, chemicals, process supplies and contract labor for all routine and planned maintenance and operational requirements.
•Implementation of all Standards and Procedures required for the safe and responsible maintenance of all equipment as well as CMMS work management, purchasing and inventory control, reliability centered maintenance processes and providing input in the development of those procedures.
•Ensure direct reports understand and communicate the corporate Health Safety & Environment (HSE) policies.
•Accountable to lead planned CF maintenance outages and short notice maintenance outages.
•Plant tooling for both CEC / CF, LTSA, and contractor personnel tools. Maintains and controls tool stocks and fitness for all applications. Required to make recommendations for tools required by maintenance for normal daily work, PM work, and PdM work. These recommendations will require justifications suitable for capital expenditure.
•Development of long-range maintenance plans for major equipment based on sound maintenance and reliability practices and OEM recommendations for the plant life cycle and for one to five years in sufficient detail to allow zero based budgeting.
•Responsible for developing and updating life cycle of plant major maintenance plan for all major equipment.
•Ensure equipment reliability and capacity is achieved to meet the plant commitments. Responsible for providing equipment reliability required to achieve performance factors in the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) plan at the lowest possible costs.
•Accountable for managing all maintenance related supplier relationships including, but not limited to, craft labor, predictive maintenance services, specialized services, and qualified repair companies.
Education Required
•An Engineering Degree and capable of being registered in APPEGA, or a First-Class Power Engineering Certificate, or an instrument, electrical, millwright journeyman ticket with extensive supervisory experience.
Qualifications & Experience
•Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role within a power generation facility, overseeing technical, supervisory, and administrative teams.
•Experience in planning, scheduling and supervising maintenance teams and contractors is essential.
•In addition to a high level of operations knowledge, this position requires skill and experience in the instrument, electrical and mechanical maintenance fields and specifically with the repair and maintenance practices of combustion turbines.
•Understanding of power plant systems and best practices maintenance as well as CMMS and financial systems.
•Understanding of long-term asset management principles including risk management, reliability principles, value assessment, and continuous improvement.
•Combustion turbine and/or steam turbine maintenance experience would be an asset.

Location:
This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at both Calgary Energy Centre
(14416 68 St NE, Calgary, Alberta)
and Crossfield Energy Centre (
11006 31 St NW, Crossfield, AB T1S 0P2).
You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the plants on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
