Job Summary
The Manager-DEV Safety Operations & Programs at Dominion Energy Virginia is responsible for overseeing and managing the development, implementation, and direction of safety, fire protection, field work methods, compliance programs, and industrial hygiene. This role ensures that all business unit safety, fire protection, work methods, training programs, policies, and procedures comply with federal, state, OSHA, and Bureau of Offshore Energy Management (BOEM) regulations, as well as company requirements.
Key responsibilities include interpreting and communicating compliance requirements, overseeing programs to identify and mitigate workplace hazards, and providing support and guidelines to enhance safety performance through safety committees and colleague engagement. The manager directs studies and investigations, advises on best practices and corrective actions, and analyzes data to identify trends and create preventive safety programs.
Additionally, the Manager-DEV Safety Ops, Projects & Programs provides guidance and senior leadership to management in developing, modifying, and improving safety and education strategies. This role oversees public safety training and the development, implementation, and administration of safety and compliance programs for internal employees and on-site contractors. The manager maintains an active understanding of safety-related events and trends within Dominion Energy Virginia and keeps leadership informed of industry developments.
This Position Will Oversee The Following Areas
CVOW (onshore & offshore) , Solar (construction & operations) , Renewable Natural Gas (RNG ), Gas Turbines , Chesterfield Energy Reliability Center , and Future Construction Projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Education Requirements
Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelors
Disciplines preferred: Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering or a related field.
Master’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene is also preferred.
