We are looking for a Management Professional who will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, controlling, and executing various projects and tasks for a unit along with Data Analysis and Reporting experience. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining best practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely deliverables. May work independently or with a team to achieve operational efficiencies. Job Responsibilities include data collection and analysis of water quality, air quality and process related data; developing and maintaining dashboards and reports; performing process modelling; analyzing and summarizing existing data collection and reporting workflows; development of reporting and data related improvement projects; acquiring skills and knowledge related to air quality and water quality reporting including permit requirements; serving as back-up for and supporting Water Quality and Air Quality Professionals; planning, leading and implementing special projects related to Laboratory Operations and Process Control; serving as liaison between Laboratory and supporting areas (e.g. Engineering, Maintenance, Operations); leading effort or supporting the Laboratory team in preparing SOPs and Training materials, implementation of pilot projects, troubleshooting of process and operational issues; identifying and implementing improvement projects of laboratory areas and processes; responsibilities may also include review and analysis of Key Performance Indicators, processes, and programs. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related operational area: Data Sciences and/or Life Sciences, preferably with a focus on environmental science or engineering, and wastewater and three (3) or more years of experience in Data Sciences, Life Sciences or engineering and wastewater OR Associate’s degree in a related operational area: Data Sciences and/or Life Sciences, preferably with a focus on environmental science or engineering, and wastewater and five (5) or more years of experience in Data Science, Life Science or engineering and wastewater. Preferred: Data Science background with some experience in Environmental Science or Engineering and/or Wastewater; Proficiency in process modelling (SUMO) and dashboard development (PowerBI); Municipal or public utility experience. Essential/Physical Requirements: Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to computer screens, working in team offices, and closely with all staffing levels. Work is performed in an industrial environment that requires wearing of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. Other Requirements: Valid Michigan Driver’s License; Other licenses or certifications as required by specialty designation.
