As a Maintenance Technician you will ensure operation of machinery and equipment by performing highly diversified maintenance task (both planned and unplanned) at our Portage, Indiana metal processing plant.
Every day as a Maintenance Technician you will...•Collaborate across teams within PSI to schedule and document preventative maintenance, supporting process improvements and equipment reliability
•Review technical drawings and specifications to ensure installations and operations met safety and quality standards
•Identify and resolve issues in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic to reduce downtime and improve performance
•Support the installation, assembly, and enhancement of new equipment and facility infrastructure
•Operation of cranes and forklifts to safely transport and position heavy equipment and materials
•Welding and metal fabrication (layout, cutting, bending, drilling)
•Maintain proper inventory of parts, supplies, and tools to minimize service interruptions
•Utilize hand and power tools to complete wide range of maintenance, repair, and fabrication task
•Create a collaborative environment by supporting team members and contributions to continuous improvements across all plants
To thrive in this role, you must...
•Willing to work Monday - Friday from 5am to 5pm, with availability for emergency repairs outside of normal hours
•Open to 50% travel as needed
•Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
•Have in depth knowledge and ability to troubleshoot hydraulics (pumps, motors, valves, cylinders) and electrical (single phase, DC circuits, PLC, knowledge of three phase, use multi-meter)
•Have in depth knowledge and experience with fabrication (welding, plasma, torch experience)
•Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
•Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
•Support others to accomplish goals by responding with professionalism and having a strong sense of urgency to make reasonable decisions and swiftly refer to appropriate level if needed
•Looks for ways to continuously improve processes by anticipating problems, seeking best answers and exploring multiple possibilities to offer solutions
