Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance activities, supporting maintenance systems, and ensuring the efficient operation of our fabrication facility. This role will provide hands-on leadership to maintenance staff, coordinate preventive and reactive maintenance, and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years’ experience in a maintenance leadership role, strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical skills, and experience with overhead cranes and other manufacturing equipment.
Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities
•Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures, leading by example to ensure a safe work environment
•Support environmental compliance programs by following appropriate waste handling and air/water safety protocols
•Supervise, train, schedule, and motivate maintenance staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
•Oversee and prioritize preventive and reactive maintenance activities to minimize downtime
•Coordinate maintenance work performed by outside vendors and contractors
•Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure timely updates in CMMS
•Assist in managing inventory, equipment calibration, and certification requirements
•Ensure company vehicles, cranes, and other assets are inspected, cleaned, and maintained in proper working order
•Support the plant leadership in achieving department and company goals
Maintenance Supervisor required skills
•3+ years of proven experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role
•Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
•Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
•Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
•Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
•Able to work in a fast-paced environment, make timely decisions, and multi-task effectively
•Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience working with CMMS systems
•High School diploma or equivalent is required; Technical or vocational degree in a related field is preferred
Physical Requirements
•Work in various indoor/outdoor conditions including hot/cold temperatures, dust, and noisy environments
•Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally
•Frequent standing, walking, reaching, balancing, and handling objects
•Regular sitting, climbing stairs/ladders, stooping, and crouching
•Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
