Duckett Creek Sanitary District is now accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Mechanic.
This position performs maintenance and repair activities on all machinery and electrical equipment, and performs general field labor.
- Perform maintenance and repair activities on all machinery, electrical equipment, motors, pumps and valves.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedule and maintains maintenance records.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on existing structures.
- Perform lift station and pump operation checks.
- Respond to emergency calls regarding sewer back-ups, lift station, plant or equipment problems as needed.
- Adjust and revise equipment to improve productivity and efficiency throughout the District.
- Operate heavy equipment such as a land application tractor and a dump truck.
- Participate in the land application of sludge.
- Assist field services personnel as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position: Working knowledge of engine, electric motor and pump maintenance and repair and ability to make repairs. Working knowledge of the tools, materials, methods and practices required to clean, maintain and repair sewer lines and related systems including welding, brazing and soldering. Ability to analyze machinery operations, diagnose problems and develop solutions including locating various parts. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, other employees and the general public. Ability to apply common sense, collect data and conduct analysis as required solving certain problems. Ability to plan work after objectives have been set by the supervisor. Ability to operate and monitor various alarm systems including a Scada and Mission System. Basic working knowledge of common computer systems, GIS systems and the ability to read blueprints.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered: Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer special vocational school or training certification in the area of mechanics. Requires a Missouri Class B commercial driver’s license with tank vehicles endorsement. Requires a minimum of 2 – 5 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair experience, preferably in a wastewater treatment plant.

Starting range of $66,609-$72,009 DOQ (Full Salary Range: $66,609 -$80,109).
