- Adheres to established safe work practices.
- Repairs machinery and equipment according to previously established job plans.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues with machinery and equipment.
- Conducts repairs on machinery and equipment as needed for emergency or preventative purposes.
- Lubricates equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshoots tools and systems, including hydraulic systems.
- Documents historical data of equipment for reliability analysis and planning upgrades.
- Provides handover information to incoming mechanics to maintain continuity during shift transitions.
- Performs periodic inventories of spare parts within assigned areas to minimize downtime.
- Maintains order and cleanliness in designated work areas.
- Works in the shop or field as required by assignments or location.
- Participates in pre-job safety meetings, weekly safety meetings, and other required training.
- Reports any potential environmental or employee safety issues.
- Ensures proper storage, inspection, and usage of tools and equipment as assigned.
- Assists management with special projects, workflow process improvements, and additional duties as assigned.
- May be required to work occasional weekends and/or evenings.
- Remains on call as needed.
- May occasionally travel for training or to other sites as necessary.
- Communicates clearly and adjusts messaging for different audiences.
- Conveys information verbally and in writing to contractors and colleagues.
- Sets specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant goals.
- Plans and organizes work efficiently.
- Skilled in rebuilding, inspecting, and repairing equipment, including hydraulics, electrical systems, engines, and transmissions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Trade/technical certification in maintenance or repair preferred.
- At least five years’ mechanic experience.
- Valid license required.
- Work outdoors in extreme or inclement weather.
- Lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds.
- Perform tasks in confined spaces and at heights.
- Work around petroleum coke and wear respiratory protection.
- Use hand and power tools.
- Operate heavy equipment (e.g., cranes, forklifts).
- Complete facility safety training.
- Move around as needed to coordinate work.
