Atlantic Sintered, a leader in powder metal discrete manufacturing and Employee-Owned company, is seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily performance and reliability of our production equipment and facilities. This leadership role is crucial to supporting our manufacturing teams by ensuring operational uptime, safety, and continuous improvement. The Maintenance Manager will supervise a team of approximately 10 maintenance mechanics and collaborate closely with the Head of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
•Ensure all production equipment and facility systems are maintained to support a safe and efficient work environment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.
•Assign and oversee daily maintenance tasks, ensuring completion with safety, quality, and timeliness in mind.
•Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies; lead by example in promoting a culture of safety.
•Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and guide the team in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to reduce downtime.
•Conduct regular safety meetings and provide leadership, coaching, and motivation to the maintenance team.
•Complete and document accident investigations in compliance with OSHA and insurance requirements.
•Identify training needs, develop skill-building programs, and mentor mechanics to support professional growth.
•Lead hiring efforts, including interviewing and selecting qualified candidates for maintenance roles.
•Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors related to facility maintenance and services.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for public utilities and municipal officials.
•Maintain and organize technical documentation, including machine manuals and maintenance records.
•Participate in cross-functional management meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
•Perform additional duties as assigned by Operations and the President.
Technical Qualifications
· 7–10 years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
· 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role over maintenance teams.
•Proficient in reading and writing English. Strong organizational and documentation skills.
•Competent in the use of precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
•Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Explorer).
•Familiar with lean manufacturing principles, including TPM, kaizen, and visual management.
•Demonstrated hands-on expertise in industrial equipment repair, maintenance, and rebuilds.
