Position Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Leader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership for plant maintenance staff. You will provide overall maintenance planning to include planning of future repairs during scheduled equipment outages and periodic, preventive and predictive inspection and testing. You will also ensure safe reliable operation of the facility within all environmental limits and permits.
- Direct and coach lead positions to maximize safety, productivity and teamwork.
- Establish performance goals in support of the department goals and facility strategic imperatives. Provide regular feedback and recognition with all assigned employees.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, report and investigate accidents, maintain safety awareness, and promote all aspects of GRE HERC Services safety program.
- Ensure utilization of standard operating procedures'processes through knowledge sharing and identification of business improvements.
- Prepare and justify training for employees while providing support for training and development to employees.
- Promote positive employee accountability, responsibility and relationships in a self-directed work team environment.
- Facilitate conflict resolution between the staff members, GHS departments, and others.
- Familiarize with collective bargaining agreement and participate in discussions and meetings, dispute resolutions and other labor/management relations.
- Delegate coordination of maintenance activities to lead positions to allow freedom to pursue long range planning and high-level maintenance dept. management.
- Facilitate maintenance related meetings and regularly participate in organization-wide meetings.
- Plan future maintenance work in order to maximize productivity.
- Work with Manager, Engineering and Projects to determine short- and long-range maintenance planning and capital projects.
- Communicate on a daily basis directly with contractors and vendors to meet the needs of the department
- Order parts and materials, prepare parts prior to maintenance, determine special tools required
- Ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures including safety and environmental.
- Prepare reports of unusual occurrences, emission exceedances, equipment failures and other reports required by the regulatory agencies or GRE HERC Services management.
- Implement and administer a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). inspections due. Maintain comprehensive plan of major repairs, overhauls, and all maintenance work to be scheduled during outages.
- Knowledge of plant maintenance at a level typically acquired through completion of two years maintenance technology/vocational education, or equivalent, and a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in heavy industrial plant operation or maintenance is required.
- Additional technical and leadership training is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to plan and coordinate work or tasks.
- Ability to develop procedures and practices, recognize needs and identify key support resources.
- Ability to make viable decisions in a timely manner to minimize limits to production.
- Ability to provide effective leadership and direction to the workforce to motivate employees to an optimum level of performance in a team-based organization.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, P&IDs, diagrams, drawings, instruction/technical manuals, operating manuals, preventive maintenance schedule and other sources of information as necessary.
- Ability to take initiative and identify and resolve problems. Must be able to be self-motivated to accomplish work effectively.
- Knowledge and skills to use personal computers to develop spreadsheets, maintain databases, complete word processing and scheduling functions.
- Knowledge of a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as dial indicators, micrometers, depth micrometers, etc.
- Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Knowledge of welding including determining the specified rods and type of metal to be welded. Familiar with plasma arc, air arc, oxygen acetylene equipment for cutting and welding and weld with a great variety of rods and metals (similar and dissimilar.)
- Knowledge of AC and DC circuits including Ohm’s law.
- Knowledge of all types of rigging, proper maintenance of all plant mechanical equipment, and repair or replacement of all types of valves (high- and low-pressure steam).
- Knowledge of labor laws and familiarization around union contracts.
- Knowledge of safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
- Skill to organize and maintain administrative records.
- Skill and ability to supervise the maintenance of various types of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Skilled at effective communication that includes good interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication.
- Complete a successful background check, drug/alcohol test and references.
This position typically works Monday – Friday. Hybrid work schedule available. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position for drug, cannabis and alcohol testing purposes. Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the plant and on the grounds to show equipment to contractors/vendors and to complete visual inspections. Expected to work extra hours when necessary and report to the plant whenever needed during nonscheduled working periods. Must be available after normal working hours to coordinate repairs of unscheduled equipment failures.
Pay range: $130,800-$170,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
