Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) seeks a dynamic
Maintenance Managerfor the
Bergen Generating Station, a gas-fired combined cycle power plant supplying electricity to New Jersey and New York City. Located on Overpeck Creek in Ridgefield, NJ, the station requires a leader to oversee all plant maintenance activities under the direction of the Plant Manager. Managing a team of 12, the Maintenance Manager will ensure safe, efficient operations, optimize maintenance systems, and drive cost-effective solutions through strategic planning and robust leadership.
Reports To: Bergen Plant Manager Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Safety Leadership: Champion a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols, providing necessary tools and protective equipment, and conducting root cause analyses for incidents. Promote safety goals and communicate findings to staff and management.
- Team Management: Lead, develop, and evaluate a team of 12 maintenance technicians, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Maintenance Planning: Develop and execute long- and short-term maintenance plans, including plant outages, workflow charts, and material requisitions, to maximize availability and cost efficiency.
- Budget & Procurement: Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets, track expenditures, approve invoices, and ensure compliance with CAMS procurement processes.
- HR & Policy Administration: Resolve human resource issues, communicate and enforce company policies, and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and environmental standards.
- Inventory & CMMS Management: Oversee warehouse inventory processes and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to issue preventative, predictive, and corrective work orders.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure accurate plant maintenance records, compliance reporting, and adherence to labor and environmental regulations.
- Project Execution: Formulate and deliver projects assigned by the Plant Manager, ensuring timely and effective completion.
- Emergency Response: Provide 24-hour on-call support for non-routine maintenance situations, ensuring rapid, informed decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and community stakeholders to support operational goals.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (relevant experience may substitute).
- Experience: 8–10 years in power plant maintenance (preferably combined cycle), with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Skills: Strong leadership, critical thinking, and organizational skills to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication for engaging with customers, suppliers, and technicians.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, and work around rotating equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals while using PPE (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.).
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in CMMS (Hexagon EAM preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Project).
- Deep knowledge of power generation technology, including combustion and steam turbines, and auxiliary equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
Summary
Applicants must possess a
valid driver's licenseand maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
