Job Title: Maintenance Assistant

Reports to: Maintenance Manager
COMPENSATION: $22 per hour
JOB DESCRIPTION: Hensel Recycling is looking for a Maintenance Assistant who will assist the Maintenance Manager and will perform general maintenance, inspection, and repairs for assigned equipment and building systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
•Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues to determine necessary repairs.
•Assists the Maintenance Manager in preventive maintenance and repair work.
•Performs routine maintenance on production machines and building systems.
•Cleans and assists with upkeep of production machines, equipment, and buildings.
•Engage in routine trainings around machinery knowledge and nuance, equipment, warehouse systems and processes with direction from the Maintenance Manager.
•Ensures that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly, reporting any safety issues to the Maintenance Manager.
•Perform administrative tasks to support operations such as inventory.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; 6 months to one year of experience strongly preferred.
•Lift truck and pallet jack experience is required.
•Electrical experience is required.
•Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
•Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
