Founded in 1979, Latva Machine is an AS9100 precision CNC machining company which produces some of the metal working industry’s most demanding and challenging products. We supply precision machined components to the Aerospace, Military, High Vacuum, and other High-Tech Industries.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Machining Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations within our machining department. This role is responsible for managing personnel, equipment, production schedules, quality control, and process improvement to ensure optimal efficiency, safety, and product quality.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of machining processes (CNC, manual, and specialty equipment), and a proven track record in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.

Leadership & Supervision

- Directly oversee machinists, setup operators, and related staff in daily operations.

- Provide clear direction, training, and performance feedback.

- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify inefficiencies and lead process improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma).

- Evaluate new tooling, fixtures, and processes to increase productivity.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years in machining operations (CNC & manual) - 2+ years in a leadership role (preferred)

- Strong knowledge of tooling, materials, and manufacturing processes.

- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and scheduling.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

- Lean/5S/Six Sigma experience preferred.

- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential situations with professionalism, tact and diplomacy

- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

- Effective decision-making abilities are a must

Responsibilities:

- Provide constant leadership, guidance and direction to all personnel.

- Effectively communicate with all departments within the company.

- Empower machinists and operators by including them, listening to their ideas/recommendations, implement changes and follow through on sustainability.

- Optimize pivotal communication between shop employees and management.

- Develop and enforce policies/programs for short and long-term goals.

- Ensure quality conformance of parts cohesively with the Quality department.

- Willingness to take on additional operational duties and special projects to support evolving customer demands and production goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Experience:
