- Support business through strategic and tactical inventory management. Apply business knowledge and sound practice for reconciling and tracking equipment, materials and supplies for all operations. Coordinate equipment deliveries and maintain inventory levels at owned and third-party locations, classify inventory conditions, and works with Procurement to maintain lowest total cost of ownership.
- Transfer materials and equipment as required by operations and document within the inventory system.
- Initiate and direct inventory audits to ensure company assets and fixed assets are consistent with corporate records.
- Ensure that all inventory discrepancies are reconciled in accordance with inventory accounting practices.
- Coordinate current and future inventory requirement forecasting and trends of businesses.
- Work with vendors to develop strategic inventory programs to reduce carrying costs while maintaining on time delivery to operations.
- Trains and support subordinate personnel with the inventory management module for material transfers, inventory management and reporting tools. Mentor staff within the warehouses to achieve higher levels of performance.
- Manage all sale of surplus and scrap material.
- Manage a team of Inventory Professionals
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in an Inventory role in the Oil & Gas market.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field.
- Ability to build good relationships with vendors
- Strong leadership quality, self-initiatives in project development, execution & monitoring
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Detail Knowledge of OCTG; specifications, datasheets, inspection processes, repairs, MTR’s
- Detail Knowledge on COPAS and inventory industry standards
- Project experience to include interface with controls, engineering, project management and client as well as management of project inventory functions.
- Proven track record in cost reduction programs
- Ability to work in a complex schedule driven work environment
- Able to organize and prioritize a diverse and heavy workload
- Recognize personal strengths and weaknesses and be proactive in self-development
- Have a strong sense of integrity and the ability to deal with ethical situations effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- SAP experience is preferred but not required.
- There are no certificates, licenses or registrations required for this position
- Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
- Ability to travel to make site visits to vendor facilities, offshore assets and other Talos office locations as required.
- Ability to travel without limitation, including airplanes, helicopters, and boats.
- Ability to utilize swing ropes to access platforms offshore as required.
- Ability to move freely on offshore assets, including stairs, ladders and lifting up to 50-lbs, and endure extreme weather conditions and hazardous atmospheres.
