Machine Shop Assistant

Overview:

We are seeking an entry level Metal Worker / Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with various metalworking techniques and tools to fabricate and assemble metal structures. On the job training will be provided in the specific methods utilized.

Duties:

- Operate and maintain metalworking machinery such as forge press, flame cutting table, and electrical heating oven equipment.

- Read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications.

- Perform quality inspections to ensure finished products meet required standards.

- Use forklifts to transport materials within the workshop.

- Utilize basic math skills for measurements and calculations.

- Handle tooling equipment safely and effectively.

Requirements:

- Proficiency in quality inspection, forklift operation, forging, basic math skills, tooling handling, fabrication, machining, and blueprint reading.

- Previous experience in metalworking or a related field is preferred.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.

- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.
