Lubrication Technician / Mechanic
LOCATION:Indian Creek Plant
RATE: As per contract ($31.35)
REPORTING TO: Maintenance Supervisor
START DATE:
As soon as practical
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•The main responsibility is assuring reliability of the plant
•Ownership and organization of supporting the health of plant equipment
•Lubrication and monitoring of the lubrication systems (Oil, grease, etc.) for all plant equipment such as:
blowers, compressors, motors, gearboxes, fans and blowers, conveyors, other rotating equipment
plant filtration systems on gearboxes, HVAC systems, etc.
•Design, construct, operate, and maintain lubrication systems
•Collaborate with off-site vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers and Graymont Maintenance, Production, and staff
•Monitor the health and functionality of plant bearings, auto greasing and other lubrication systems
•Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance, and root cause analysis of equipment findings as needed
•Adjust lubrication systems based on learnings from Maintenance, Production and staff
•Support Predictive Maintenance programs – oil analysis, vibration, infrared, and ultrasound to monitor plant equipment health
•Develop an understanding of our plant processes and equipment with ability to troubleshoot and repair
•Have a fundamental understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, lubrication, filtration systems, and bearings
•Ownership of lubrication and filter inventory, tools, and equipment
•Documentation of discrepancies or conditions that require further maintenance
•Self-motivated and organizational skills required
•Support other maintenance activities as needed
•Participate in Maintenance call-outs
•Support Graymont safety vision and values
•Assist Maintenance Supervisor and maintenance operations to ensure high priority issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
•Ensure that all equipment is lubricated, and oils are changed according to the manufacture’s standards and/or Graymont’s best practices.
•Assist as needed in the plant
•Participate in regularly scheduled meetings.
•Adhere to all expectations as laid out in the Maintenance Dept. Ground Rules.
•Utilize the JDE work order and preventative maintenance system to ensure that all work is planned, tracked and completed.
•Use and understand equipment manuals, prints and schematics to identify components and replacement parts.
•Identify parts that need ordering and provide information to purchaser
•Maintain a safe and clean work area
•Cover shifts and work overtime as necessary (including callouts)
•Assist in training other employees
•All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Strong sense of ownership regarding plant safety and environmental compliance
•5 years of plant maintenance operations or equivalent education / training
•Strong communications skills
•Ability to prioritize, balance workload and multitask
•Ability to work well with others and ability to work alone
•Basic computer skills – including Internet Explorer, JDE, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
•Must possess minimum basic tools.
