Job Title: Lubrication Technician
Location: Ripley
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Supervisor
Job Overview:
Reporting to a Maintenance Lead Person, or the Maintenance Manager, the Lubrication Technician is responsible for lubricating plant equipment.
Responsibilities:•Responsible for plant equipment greasing.
•Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, and gears.
•Generate necessary work orders and check completed work.
•Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
•Assists, troubleshoots, and conducts repairs in mechanical systems, mobile equipment, and physical structures.
•Assist in performing preventative maintenance, including routine maintenance on mobile equipment.
•Assist in layout, fabrication and construction of equipment, machinery, and grounds facility.
•Assists in performing plumbing and pipefitting and related work in installing, repairing, or re-routing water, sewage, air, and gas pipes.
•Keeps areas clean and free of clutter.
•Observes all safety rules and regulations.
•Work maintenance call ins.
•Performs any of the duties Maintenance as needed and other tasks as assigned.
•Must act in accordance with WE CARE and Oil-Dri Lessons Learned
•Participates in improvement activities.
•Other actions as needed to satisfy company goals, process, and procedures and to uphold values inherent to Oil-Dri.
•Actively seek and identify improvement opportunities to reduce losses and implement measures, coordinating with the full team to affect them.
Qualifications:Education:
•HS Diploma or equivalent required.
Skills & Abilities:
•Must understand all safety requirements and other communications.
•Must meet any skill assessment requirements.
•Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on product specifications.
•Must demonstrate mechanical ability.
•Good oral and written communication skills.
•Knowledge of Manufacturing ERP system preferred
•Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
•Must be able to frequently carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
•Must be able to withstand operation of geared equipment and heavy physical labor.
•Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, climbing stairways and ladders frequently.
•Must be able to work at heights of 100 feet or greater.
•Must be able to hear radio and telephone communication.
•Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including, but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, dust mask, protective coveralls, and pother as may be required in a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
