Job Description:
A logistics supervisor is responsible for managing the flow of goods throughout a company's supply chain, overseeing the storage and transportation of inventory, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers, and coordinating with various stakeholders like carriers, warehouses, and internal departments to maintain efficient operations; key duties include tracking shipments, managing orders, resolving logistics issues, and maintaining accurate documentation. Duties and Responsibilities:. Schedule, dispatch, and track fuel deliveries to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
. Communicate daily with drivers to provide delivery instructions, route details, and scheduling updates.
. Monitor driver locations and delivery status using dispatching systems and GPS tracking.
. Coordinate with customers regarding delivery schedules, changes, or delays.
. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driver logs, and fuel inventory movements.
. Respond promptly to emergencies, breakdowns, or delivery issues, providing solutions to minimize service disruption.
. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
. Answer phones and emails timely in support of daily logistical/overall operations.
. Manage Monthly product allocation on the terminal level and assist with inventory control and procurement procedures.
. Customer order creation and invoicing through BizSpeed.
. Leverage wireless monitoring to optimize dispatch routing through Smart Tank and BizSpeed.
. Being available and on call whenever drivers need questions answered. This includes weekends but not limited to just then.
. Be familiar with plant operations. Includes but not limited to Forklift operation, fuel rack operation, etc.
. In office dispatch hours are 7am to 5pm. Afterhours and weekends are based on the need for dispatched drivers.
. Be involved with interviewing and onboarding new drivers. This includes but is not limited to helping set up and participate in interviewing drivers, once hired-time clock training/implementation, road tests, Samsara acclimation, explanation of the safety bonus program, coordinating driver training/etc.
. Drivers Safety Meetings/Be able to create and present to the team areas that need strengthening/improvement.
. Document all infractions and safety issues and coach drivers when errors occur.
. Collaborate with operations, sales, and customer service teams to meet service expectations.
. Be prepared to quote a customer or assist sales with a quote.
. Be supportive of the sales team.
. Communicate with customers to resolve issues related to order fulfillment or driver related mishaps.
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in customer service and Management/Supervisor
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and email.
Strong organizational and task management skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
