Logistics Supervisor

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Supervising Shipping Operations: Ensure on time delivery by coordinating and monitoring shipping schedules and activities. Lead and coach a team of logistics coordinators and truck loaders, evaluate performance, and set daily and weekly goals for team members.

Supervising Receiving Operations: Coordinate and monitor receiving schedules and activities. Lead and coach a team of logistics coordinators and warehouse receivers, evaluate performance, and set daily and weekly goals for team members.

Communication: Maintain open communication with the warehouse shippers/receivers, and logistics coordinators. Work with supply chain analysts, account managers, production supervisors and others within the company to provide excellent service and on time delivery that exceeds our customers' expectations.

Transportation Coordination: Scheduling and routing shipments, selecting outside carriers, and ensuring all applicable regulations are being met.

Warehousing and Storage: Monitoring inventory levels, organizing storage spaces, and optimizing the warehouse layout.

Safety Compliance: Ensuring the safe use of process and equipment, and holding employees accountable to safe operation.

Quality Compliance: Ensuring proper packaging and shipping methods are being used in accordance with customer requirements.

Continuous Process Improvement: Setting daily/weekly and long term objectives, working with management to assign resources to meet these objectives, and continually working to reduce cost and streamline processes.

- Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

- Organization and time management skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Effective leadership of a crew of about 10 people.

- Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions

Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
