York Metal Products is seeking a detail-oriented MP&L Coordinator to join our team of professionals. The MP&L Coordinator’s primary function is to work directly with the Production Control and Logistics (PC&L) team to plan and organize material flow from raw material receiving to finished good shipments, in order to achieve customer requirements. York is looking for a motivated and professional MP&L Coordinator who has prior experience in Advanced Manufacturing or Automotive. This is a hands-on position that includes both administrative logistics and shop floor coordination. The MP&L Coordinator is responsible for ensuring on time and accurate customer delivery through monitoring EDI customer forecasting, monitoring production schedules and verifying product inventory to assure adequate product supply-chain for shipment attainment. The MP&L Coordinator acts as an interdepartmental liason and collaborates with Production Management to confirm customer release requirements, understand program requirements (ie Packaging, Labelling etc) and communicate accurate shipment information with the shopfloor Logistics team. Additionally, the MP&L Coordinator plays a key role in shipment scheduling and prepares customs paperwork for Domestic and International shipments (ie Packing Slips, BOLs, CUSMA). The goal of the MP&L Coordinator is to ensure the effective flow of material and on-time shipment of quality product. This is accomplished by adhering to SOPs, properly handling paperwork on inbound and outbound material and maintaining required documentation and logistics data integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Monitor EDI customer forecast information through various customer portals and monitor Production schedules to ensure adequate product supply-chain is in place.
•Verify inventory and communicate with Production team to ensure scheduled shipment attainment and customer demand is satisfied.
•Communicate customer and shipment requirements interdepartmentally.
•Coordinate domestic and international shipments through several transport and freight companies, ensuring efficient delivery and pick up within specified window times.
•Send Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) to appropriate customer contacts.
•Generate various shipment documents such as Packing Slips, BOLs, Load Schemes through ERP system (JobBoss).
•Work with 3PL to schedule trucks and monitor the status of trucks/shipments, resolving logistics issues promptly (ie paperwork discrepancies, communicating with customs).
•Effectively communicate shipping, receiving and transport activity interdepartmentally through multiple standardized systems and tools (ie Shipping Schedule, Shipping App etc)
•Participate in the creation of Load Schemes / Truck Design based on interpreting data from customer EDI and Manifests.
•Verify staged loads against completed paperwork prior to shipment.
•Reconcile completed shipments within part program database to ensure inventory accuracy and shipment data integrity.
•Receive inbound material into the Company’s material inventory system (Mobinet) while maintaining associated paperwork (ie Receiving Logs, Packing Slips).
•Verifying material deliveries against the Packing Slip to ensure accurate material receiving into the ERP system. Generate all material lot tags and label material lots accordingly.
•Control dunnage and cardboard, as well as return dunnage from customers.
•Report shortages, errors or quality deficiencies to PCL Team Lead.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skill Set Requirements:
•Minimum 3-5 years’ work experience in Shipping/Receiving and/or Logistics in an Advanced Manufacturing environment.
•College or University education in Logistics or Supply Chain is considered an asset.
•Must have previous experience in a shop floor manufacturing environment. Previous experience in or Automotive Manufacturing is preferred.
•Excellent English language skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
•Good computer skills required to work within Company’s ERP and Inventory system. Must have proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
•Knowledge of international and cross-border shipping requirements, including an understanding of CUSMA.
•Previous experience with EDI analysis is required.
•Enthusiastic and committed individual, with a desire to learn and grow a career in Advanced Manufacturing.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
•Fast Paced manufacturing shop floor environment involves frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
•Appropriate PPE and safe work guidelines must be always adhered to (ie forklift pedestrian safety).
•Process requires close attention to detail.
