Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Power Distribution Electrical Supervisor, you will be part of the Infrastructure Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical distribution systems including overhead and underground power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, stress cone, transformers and other associated equipment.
- Erect and maintain wood poles and guy wires
- Inspect and test overhead and underground power lines and cables and auxiliary equipment using electrical test equipment
- Operate hydraulic buckets when working on poles.
- Install and maintain fiber infrastructure
- Communicate with other workers to coordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments.
- If weather conditions does not allow work to be done safely you will be assigned interior tasks such as repairing 8kV and 25kV mine trailing cable.
- Ontario provincial (434A) or inter-provincial (Red Seal) Powerline Technician trade certificate.
- Practical work experience within the mining sector and power line construction.
- Experience working at a remote work site is considered an asset.
- Schedule: 7/7 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
