Nova Scotia Power is seeking a

Learning and Development Specialist

to lead the design, development, and delivery of end-user training as part of a large-scale enterprise system transformation at Nova Scotia Power. Reporting to the Training Lead, the Learning and Development Specialist will oversee training project plans, manage instructional design activities, and ensure employees are fully prepared for new systems, processes, and ways of working.

This role is ideal for someone with strong instructional design expertise and project management experience, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about helping others succeed through change.

Key Elements Of This Role Include

- Leading the development and execution of the ERP training strategy and plan, including project management of timelines, resources, and deliverables

- Conducting detailed training needs assessments across business units in collaboration with subject matter experts and project teams

- Designing, developing, and maintaining training materials, including manuals, job aids, presentations, and eLearning content using instructional design best practices

- Delivering instructor-led training sessions and/or train-the-trainer workshops as required

- Maintaining training content repositories and supporting version control and updates

- Gathering user feedback to identify gaps or areas for improvement

- Providing guidance and coaching to other team members involved in training delivery

- Collaborating with the Change Management, Communications, and Business Readiness teams to ensure alignment of messaging and support

These Skills Will Make You Successful

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:

- Degree or diploma in Education, Instructional Design, Business, or a related field; advanced certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or instructional design considered an asset

- 5+ years of experience in training development and delivery, with significant exposure to project management and instructional design

- Experience designing and delivering training for business systems (i.e., ERP, CRM, HRIS) is an asset

- Proven ability to manage training projects, including scope, timelines, and stakeholder expectations

- Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Proficiency in MS Office and eLearning tools (i.e. anything to add here??)

- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
