Corrosion Engineering is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research & Development (R&D) Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both technical design and hands-on environments.
This position is a temp to hire position. Benefits and other company perks will be available once 520 hours of work have been performed.
Monday - Thursday (10 hour shifts). 4:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Fridays and overtime when necessary (depending on company needs).
- Develop and refine product designs using 2D & 3D AutoCAD software.
- Identify opportunities for product innovation, process improvement, and cost optimization.
- Assist in the planning, development, and execution of product design and development phases in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Support documentation of the design and development processes to ensure they comply with internal procedures and quality management systems (QMS).
- Assist in maintaining and updating R&D records, design specifications, and development plans to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Participate in the design reviews and change control processes, ensuring all alterations align with the QMS framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing) to ensure designs meet customer requirements and organizational goals.
- Assist in researching and identifying new design requirements and criteria that align with eligibility for tax credits.
- Collaborate with senior R&D team members and finance to ensure tax credit opportunities are fully understood and leveraged.
- Maintain documentation of relevant design requirements and technical specifications for tax credit claims.
- Work with the team to ensure that all qualifying innovations, including environmental and energy efficiency standards, are met for tax credit eligibility.
- Participate in audits, assessments, and compliance checks related to design and development procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, ISO standards, and organizational policies in all R&D activities.
- Support project timelines, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met efficiently.
- Organize and maintain R&D equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability for project needs.- 2+ years of experience in product design, R&D, or a related role.
- Proficiency in 2D & 3D AutoCAD.
- Strong problem-solving skills and innovative mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Willingness to be actively involved in the plant for testing and development.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
