Position Description:
The Leadperson is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in all operating activities within the Service Center. This roles focus will be on the efficient daily receipt, storage, processing, and issuance of material for shipment.

•2nd shift – 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., Monday – Friday

Primary Responsibilities:
•Attend/conduct all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required
•Follow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and others
•Assist in the supervision of staff members to ensure shift goals and quality expectations are consistently achieved
•Perform all duties required of a Specialist and/or Operator at a high level of productivity and accuracy
•Assist in the coordination of personnel schedules to ensure operational effectiveness
•Train and coach Service Center personnel to understand and comply with SPS policies and procedures
•Ensure audit and material traceability procedures are being followed throughout the Service Center
•Assist in the maintenance of safety, production (DSC), and attendance records within the appropriate software
Physical & Work Requirements:
•Time split between office environment and warehouse or yard.
•Working in a yard or warehouse facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty and noisy; steel-toed boots required daily.
•Fast-paced, moderately stressful, constantly changing day-to-day work environment
•Facility is a multiple shift operation. Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call at various times including possible weekends and holidays.
•Job is performed under some temperature extremes
•Ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per shift. Capable of ascending and descending material handling equipment
•Ability to lift up to 51 pounds as needed. Pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds
•Wear proper PPE at all time (as described in company policy)
Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:
•In-depth understanding of SPS policies and procedures
•Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Procedures
•Detail-oriented and excellent observational skills
•Ability to effectively read and use a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
•Proven experience operating material handling equipment
•Strong computer, tablet, or mobile devise skills
•Thoroughness / Detail orientation
•High School diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred Background, Competencies & Expertise:
•Proven ability to plan and execute short and long-term goals
•Proven experience in continuous improvement and/or quality management
•Ability to read and understand prints, documents, and/or drawings
