Position Summary:
Permian Basin Water Resources (PBWR) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Class C Wastewater Operator to serve as the Lead Operator for its advanced Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment facility. The current facility treats up to 85,000 gallons per day and is expanding to a capacity of 360,000 GPD. This is a critical leadership position with responsibility for day-to-day operations, compliance, preventive maintenance, and future scaling support.
Key Responsibilities:
•Operate and monitor an 85,000 GPD MBR wastewater treatment facility using Ignition SCADA.
•Maintain and adjust setpoints for blowers, pumps, VFDs, chemical feed systems, and related treatment components.
•Perform daily rounds, flow measurements, and operational adjustments.
•Collect and document water quality samples for compliance with TCEQ permit requirements.
•Manage all aspects of DMR reporting and coordination with third-party laboratory services.
•Conduct minor mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of rotating equipment and control systems.
•Participate in the preventive maintenance program and assist with equipment upgrades or installations.
•Respond to alarms and field emergencies including after-hours and on-call duties.
•Assist with lift station inspections and respond to pump or sensor failures.
•Support plant growth and capital improvement efforts.
•Cross-train with water system staff to provide system-wide operational support.
•Maintain documentation of chemical usage, maintenance logs, SCADA trends, and TCEQ reporting records.
•Uphold PBWR safety procedures, PPE use, and confined space/trench protocols.
Required Qualifications:
•Valid TCEQ Class C Wastewater Operator License
•Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in wastewater facility operations
•Experience operating and maintaining blowers, pumps, chemical feed, and SCADA systems
•Proficiency in data logging, report preparation, and regulatory compliance
•Strong mechanical aptitude and basic electrical troubleshooting skills
•Comfortable using tablets, cloud-based tools, and software-based systems
•Valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience operating an MBR system
•Familiarity with Ignition SCADA
•Knowledge of lift stations and collection systems
•TCEQ Class C Water License or willingness to obtain
•Experience mentoring junior operators
Working Conditions:
•Outdoor and indoor work in variable weather
•Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and enter confined spaces
•Subject to after-hours work and rotating weekend duties
