Lead Surface Supervisor

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Actively support, model, and promote the West Elk Warriors Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) program, ensuring supervisors and crews consistently engage in safe behaviors.

· Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to Surface Supervisors overseeing surface coal handling, wash plant and loadout operations, surface maintenance, compressor stations, fans, nitrogen and MVB’s.

· Mentor and develop Surface Supervisors, supporting their leadership skills and technical growth while ensuring accountability to performance standards.

· Plan, organize, and coordinate surface operations and maintenance to ensure all work is scheduled, resourced, and completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with MSHA, environmental regulations, and mine production goals.

· Assist supervisors and crews with troubleshooting and repairs when needed, providing technical guidance and ensuring safe, effective completion of the work.

· Oversee requisitioning and purchasing of parts and supplies through Oracle, coordinating with warehouse personnel on warranty claims, repairs, and inventory management.

· Serve as the primary link between mine management and surface supervisors, providing timely updates on operations, maintenance needs, and improvement opportunities.

· Proven leadership with the ability to hold supervisors accountable, while supporting their development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Six plus (6+) years of surface maintenance and operations experience, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent

· MSHA Electrical certification (low, medium, high voltage – surface)

· Demonstrated experience with West Elk Warriors BBS process

· Possess understanding of planning function and necessity of detail-oriented work
