We are seeking a multidisciplinary Lead Power Systems Engineer with deep expertise in power electronics, energy distribution, and high-power electrical systems. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and validation of power architectures for advanced hybrid and electric platforms. You will provide technical direction on power conversion, distribution, and motor control, ensuring system-level integration, safety, and reliability. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on engineering — from guiding cross-functional teams to driving innovation in next-generation power systems.
- Lead the design, development, and validation of high-voltage power systems, including inverters, converters, energy storage, and distribution architectures
- Oversee motor control and power electronics integration across multiple motor types (PMAC, Induction, SynRM, SRM)
- Direct development of dynamic system simulation models (MATLAB/Simulink, Simscape, etc.) for system-level optimization
- Define system-level requirements, design specifications, and test protocols for high-power applications
- Guide and mentor engineers in developing advanced control algorithms, embedded software, and hardware validation procedures
- Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with standards in high-voltage lab and field environments
- Collaborate with applications, validation, software, and sales teams to translate customer requirements into robust power solutions
- Drive innovation in power management strategies, efficiency improvements, and next-generation architectures
- Document system architectures, technical design decisions, and produce technical reports, user guides, and white papers for both internal and external audiences
- Supervise and mentor interns, providing technical guidance and fostering their professional development
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field
- Experience within the following industries and ability to learn/lead within them:
- Batteries and Energy storage
- Engine gensets and Powerplants
- Motors
- Power distribution systems
- Thermal, LV, HV, and safety systems
- Proven leadership experience in high-voltage power systems, power electronics, or motor drive engineering
- Deep knowledge of power conversion topologies, distribution systems, and motor drive technologies
- Proficiency in vector control, modulation schemes, and system-level trade-off analysis
- Strong background in MATLAB/Simulink modeling and real-time embedded systems (C/C++)- Experience with high-voltage testing, laboratory equipment, and system-level validation
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and mentoring ability, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Flexible and adaptable approach to evolving project requirements
