The Lead Analyst – Interconnection Services plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the end-to-end administration of Level 1 through Level 4 Interconnection Applications in accordance with the MPUC Chapter 324: Small Generator Interconnection Procedures. This position ensures compliance with state regulatory requirements, supports technical and procedural consistency, and serves as a key liaison between internal teams, external stakeholders, and the Manager of Interconnections.
The Lead Analyst will guide and support a team of analysts, ensuring timely and accurate processing of interconnection applications, from pre-application through post-study coordination. This role requires a deep understanding of interconnection standards, utility operations, and regulatory frameworks, as well as strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Lead the review, processing, and tracking of Level 1–4 interconnection applications, ensuring compliance with MPUC Chapter 324. Coordinate with engineering, planning, and field teams to ensure technical accuracy and timely progression of applications.
Ensure all interconnection activities align with MPUC Chapter 324 requirements, including cost responsibility, screening criteria, and technical standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and implement procedural updates accordingly.
Serve as a primary point of contact for developers, customers, and internal departments. Facilitate clear, professional communication and issue resolution throughout the interconnection process.
Provide guidance and mentorship to analysts supporting interconnection activities. Promote a collaborative and high-performance team environment, ensuring consistency and quality in application processing.
Work closely with the Manager of Interconnections to develop strategic improvements, support reporting and compliance efforts, and represent the team in cross-functional initiatives.
