Lathe Operator

We are currently seeking a Manual Lathe Operator to join our team at the Oklahoma City, OK facility. This role is critical to producing high-precision components that meet both internal quality standards and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate manual engine lathes to machine compressor valves and packing cases

- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, part drawings, and job travelers

- Measure and machine parts to precise tolerances using micrometers, calipers, and gauges

- Perform part setups and select appropriate tooling for each job

- Follow Samco and OEM procedures to ensure quality and consistency

- Maintain equipment and perform routine checks to ensure machine readiness

- Collaborate with shop leads to resolve machining issues

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications:

- Experience operating manual lathes (engine lathe experience preferred)

- Ability to read mechanical drawings and use precision measuring tools

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts

- Familiarity with machining cast iron, steel, and bronze components is a plus

- Prior experience with compressor valves, packing cases, or similar components is a strong advantage

- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
