Laser Operator - Weekend Shift

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on laser operation experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and is committed to producing high-quality results. The ideal candidate will be able to set up and operate Mitsubishi laser cutting equipment, perform routine maintenance, and support production needs such as pulling parts and assisting team members. A strong technical background, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork are essential for success in this role.

- Schedule: Fri: 7am-6:30pm, Sat-Sun: 6am-6:30pm (work 35, get paid for 40

Key Responsibilities

Laser Setup & Operation

- Set up and operate laser cutting systems to cut various metals with precision.

- Monitor laser performance, adjust settings as needed, and ensure optimal operation.

- Perform standard maintenance, including cleaning optics and troubleshooting equipment.

Quality & Inspection

- Read and interpret blueprints to verify product specifications.

- Accurately inspect and measure parts, completing inspection reports as required.

- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.

Production Support

- Assist in pulling parts as needed while lasers are running.

- Safely handle and lift materials up to 50 pounds.

- Operate hand tools and vibrating hand tools as required.

Collaboration & Workflow

- Set priorities and meet deadlines while working within automated production systems.

- Work independently while adapting to changing or fluctuating priorities.

- Partner with team members across departments to ensure smooth production flow.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

- 1+ years of direct laser operating experience required; Mitsubishi laser experience strongly preferred.

- Strong knowledge of laser cutting systems (or formal training in laser operation).

- Experience in setup and operation of various metals in a manufacturing environment.

- 2+ years’ experience in metal fabrication/manufacturing desirable.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints with strong mathematical skills (fractions, decimals, conversions).

- Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.

- Customer service-oriented, action-driven, and team-focused mindset.
