Laser Operator - 2nd Shift- 4PM-2:30AM (M-TH) 3 DAY WEEKEND | EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

UMI’s corporate facility is located in Menomonee Falls, with the mobility division located in New Berlin, WI. We work closely with our customers to provide high quality made in the USA, pre-fabricated parts and products designed to withstand the rigors of what will be thrown at them.

This position is critical to the production of laser cut products that feed the the form and weld groups. Responsible for set up, troubleshooting, and operating a Mitsubishi Nitrogen Laser.

Responsibilities:

- Set-up and operation of Mitsubishi Laser

- De-nesting parts cut by the laser, properly identifying and transacting the inventory into the ERP system

- Identifies and solves machine process variations, operational sequences, alignment and cut condition issues that arise

- Recommend layout changes for nesting of products being cut

- Verify materials to job order and load sheet steel onto laser beds.

- Clean-up/grind minor burrs and melt that arises from cutting

- May train others on set-up and operation of Laser

- Safely operate a forklift and overhead crane to handle materials and complete work

- Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues

- Perform laser related preventive maintenance in coordination with Maintenance Tech

- Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues

- Other duties as assigned
