Summary

In this role you will be responsible for providing accurate analysis of routine process samples, product samples, and special projects.
Responsibilities:
•Advise plant supervision of off-specification material or unusual analytical results
•Learn and be familiar with all Quality Assurance Lab analytical procedures.
•Support the sites commitment to quality and in particular the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, Quality Objectives and other goals as applicable.
•Initiate action to report and prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relating to the product, process, and quality system
•Execute sample preps, tests and evaluations to ensure company and regulatory specifications and requirements are met
•Perform special or fill-in analyses as required
•Accumulate data to determine plant operational trends
•Change daily work schedule to accommodate inventory, special samples, etc., when necessary.
•Analyze and maintain detailed records of all plant shipments.
•Provide information to customers as required.
•Conduct analysis as required to resolve customer quality issues.
•Provide all necessary analytical report forms including daily, weekly, and monthly production or regulatory reports.
•Prepare and /or be responsible for sample shipments, either local or overseas.
•Support and maintain compliance with all plant and corporate safety and environmental programs.
•Coordinate with outsourced labs, submitting work orders, maintaining chain of custody documentation for additional testing
•Monitor chemical inventory and lab supply usage, ordering supplies as needed
•Restock chemicals and reagents to prevent delays in testing or analysis
•Follow all site-specific safety policies and procedures
•Participate in root cause analysis for quality non-conformance to implement corrective actions
•Assist in establishing new test methods and review and updating older testing methods.

Requirements:
•2-year Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
•Minimum 2 years of laboratory analysis experience in an industrial laboratory environment
•Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
•Ability to identify, gather, analyze and evaluate data
•Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Excel, Access, etc.)
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Equipment primarily used:
•Spectrophotometer, ICP, Ion Chromatograph
•Wet chemistry methods - moisture content, filtrations, titrations, etc.
•Beckman Coulter Sedigraph
•Average Particle Size Analyzer
Additional information: Drug screen and physical are required after offer of employment.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
