As a Laboratory Technician, you will be crucial in performing physical and chemical tests on samples related to wellfield operations, process control, and environmental monitoring for uranium in-situ recovery. This role demands strong attention to detail, the development of sound laboratory practices, and the ability to master essential lab techniques to deliver accurate and timely results. This position is expected to complete their assigned task, meet expectations and take ownership of their actions and decisions. Timely and accurate work is a requisite for the position. Specific responsibilities include, but not limited to:
· The working environment is typically indoors at a remote location.
· 10-hour Shifts, with occasional weekends as needed. Transportation options may be available.
· Work in a safe conscientious manner following all safety rules and regulations.
· Prepares laboratory instrumentation and equipment required for daily sample analysis
· Performs instrument performance checks to demonstrate suitability of analysis.
· Prepares standards, quality control samples and other reagents used in laboratory analysis.
· Tests both solid and liquid samples for alkalinity, chloride, electrical conductivity, pH and other analytes as required. Samples may be radioactive.
· Accurately performs dilution work through excellence in pipetting or weighing as well as volumetric additions.
· Testing of Quality Control samples including but not limited to duplicates, matric spikes and laboratory control samples.
· Documents test results, works in Excel and solves basic algebraic equations.
· Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices in all work-related activities.
· Must be able to recognize hazardous conditions, follow company safety policies and practices and to engage in a strong safety culture.
· Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
· Successful candidates will be required to submit to mandatory drug and alcohol testing prior to employment, as well as a background check.
· May require standing for long periods of time, with repetitive motions
· High school diploma required. Postsecondary education in the sciences preferred.
· Understanding laboratory environment a must. Willing to train the right person.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
· Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet programs, and experience with Agilent ICP Expert & Mantech PC-Titrate is a plus.
