NATURE OF WORK
This position is responsible for Energy Efficiency Program and Product Certification as assigned and under the guidance of the Lab Manager. This position is responsible for direct interface with the client on projects assigned to him/her, and for all activities associated with processing and completion of the project.

This position reports to the Lab Manager.

•Review, maintain and expand Energy Efficiency program scope as required.
•Participate in standard development, review regulations and provide comments to standard committees or regulators when applicable
•Develop test method, procedures and technology.
•Assist Customer Service in issuing quotes and/or prepares quote where applicable.
•Reviewing of customer contract requirements and related specification.
•Interacts directly with clients regarding project specifications, test plans and strategies, project status, timelines, and test results.
•Conduct product investigations and ensure that appropriate tests are performed to certify/verify compliance against applicable standards.
•Review/approval of the test plan with the test engineer/technician and or tests and evaluates products as necessary.
•ü Initiate meetings, distribute samples and folders containing work orders and pertinent information to the areas doing the testing.
•Provide technical guidance and assistance to Test Engineers/Technicians during all phases of the test/evaluation process of projects.
•Review/approval of testing and evaluation reports generated by the laboratory and preparation of draft certificate of compliance.
•Prepares technical reports for final review and approval by Technical Certification Reviewer.
•Interacts daily with the managers and technicians regarding testing, schedules and reports, as well as shipping and receiving, customer service and sales.
•Organize folders containing test results, checking to make sure all the tests required by the client have been performed and performed correctly.
•Keeps track of project turn around times, alerting other staff when a problem is present.
•If applicable, updates the scheduler daily, particularly regarding due dates.
•Assist with the financial matters and other administrative duties associated with assigned projects.
•Maintain lab books and complete other required documentation including the writing of technical test reports, comprehensive documentation of findings, processes, procedures, costs, and methodology.
•Analyze technical literature and stay current on related issues and technical data.
•Read and interpret test specifications according to acceptance standards.
•Perform all tests and related work according to established standards applicable to the work.
•Prepare job costing reports.
•Comply with all safety rules, including the proper use of safety equipment and maintain a safe, orderly and clean environment.
•Adhere to the requirements of the Quality Manual and all other company policies and procedures.
•Perform other work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•College Diploma (min 2 yr) in electrical or electronic
•3 Years of related industrial experience in Appliance Safety and Energy Efficiency.
•Working knowledge of the principles and practices of business operations in related field.
•Proven ability to comprehend, analyze and systematically compile technical, statistical and financial information into comprehensive reports or other formats.
•Proven ability to independently plan, organize, and complete a variety of projects within established standards, objectives and time frames.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s Degree or Masters degree in engineering or field related to position and area of responsibility.
•Minimum of five (5) years work experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment directly related to position, in a professional, managerial position.
•Experience utilizing computer applications related to position.
•Advanced course work or training in quality systems.
•Working knowledge of the principles and practices of manufacturing systems.
•Associates or Advanced Degree in Business Administration.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to communicate and interact effectively in both verbal and written format.
•Ability to view, read, and comprehend a variety of reports and manuals of a technical nature, computer screen, etc.
•Mobility to travel to all company locations and other locations where duties of the position would be performed.
•Physical dexterity to perform the clerical and technical functions which are inherent to the position.
