•

Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations including resolving or recommending action on reconciling items

•

Post journal entries as required

•

Process accounting transactions and prepare monthly reconciliations for select subsidiary companies

•

Assist with preparation of month end financial statement package

•

Investigate variances in various revenue and expense accounts

•

Provide support to the yearend process including account reconciliations and preparation of year end working papers

•

Administer corporate credit cards which includes collection of backup and timely payment of approved statement

•

Provide support to the annual budget and forecasting process

•

Support AR and AP functions as needed

•

Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures

•

Provide technical accounting support and interpretation

•

Prepare a variety of ad hoc reports for management to assist in decision making

•

Administration of Agent and Representative commissions

•

Perform other related duties as necessary

Preferred Candidates Will Possess a Combination Of The Following

•

Possess an Accounting, Finance, or equivalent college or university degree with preference given to those currently in or planning to enroll in a professional designation program

•

Minimum 1 to 2 years of general accounting experience

•

Experience in a manufacturing setting would be beneficial

•

Good understanding of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

•

Familiarity with processing reconciliations for various accounts

•

Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

•

Hands-on experience with ERP such as SAGE 500, SAP, and Xero

•

Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables

•

Accuracy and attention to detail

•

Aptitude for numbers and strong quantitative skills

•

Able to work effectively in a team environment

•

Proven problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills

•

Able to work independently and effectively manage diverse responsibilities

•

Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

•

Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills

•

Well organized and self-motivated
